The short version. Your library lives in your browser. Nothing about it leaves your device unless you sign in to the cloud library or send it somewhere yourself. CrankMagic has no ads, sells no data, and uses no tracking cookies.

Who runs CrankMagic

CrankMagic is a free, unofficial fan project run by Rob Minor. Questions about this page go to admin@crankmagic.com.

What stays on your device

Your decks, cards, collection records, notes and history are saved in this browser's own storage, on this device.
CrankMagic keeps a copy of its own files in the browser so it can open offline.
You can save a backup file at any time (Menu → Save a backup file) and erase everything (Menu → Clear all data).

If you sign in to the cloud library

The cloud library is optional and invitation-only. When you use it:

Signing in is handled by Cloudflare Access, with your Google account or a one-time code sent to your email. CrankMagic receives your email address, and Google may share your name. CrankMagic never sees your password.
Signing in sets a session cookie, used only to keep you signed in.
What is stored: your library (as a compressed backup of it), when each copy was saved, and a device label such as "Chrome on Windows". The latest copy is kept, along with the 20 most recent saves; a copy set aside when two of your devices disagreed is kept for 30 days.
Where: in a database run by Cloudflare, in North America.
Who can see it: only you, through CrankMagic. The operator can reach the database only to keep the service running, and does not browse libraries.
Deleting it: email admin@crankmagic.com and your cloud library and account are erased. Your device's own copy is yours to keep or clear.

Visit counts

CrankMagic uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure how fast pages load. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not follow you to other sites.

Services your browser contacts

Scryfall for card data and card images, EDHREC for commander popularity, and Archidekt only when you import a deck from it. Your browser asks them directly, so they see your IP address as any website you visit would. CrankMagic does not send them your library.
Cloudflare hosts and protects the site; it processes requests, including IP addresses, to deliver pages and block abuse.

Email

Mail sent to admin@crankmagic.com is forwarded to the operator and used only to reply to you. "Send Feedback" in the Menu opens your own mail app with the page you were on and your screen size filled in; you can change or remove them before sending.

AI features

CrankMagic has none switched on today. Before any is, this page will say what it sends, to whom, and who can use it.

Children

CrankMagic is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If anything here changes, this page and the date at the top change with it.
